A membership that is profitable

Membership to the International Butchers´ Confederation (IBC) is open to all the national associations of small and medium sized butchery or treatment businesses with legal status in their country of origin.
What are the benefits of membership?
Members of the IBC benefit from a great variety of services and advantages which provide a better overview on the numerous challenges which the craft butchers’ sector must face today: the growing concern in relation with food safety, food hygiene, food labelling and traceability; predatory competition imposed by the internationalization and concentration of groups in the food sector; the growing importance and complexity of European legislation…
Members among others benefit from the following advantages:
Direct influence on European legislation
Coordinated representation of sector-specific interests at the European institutions and their bodies, especially at the European Commission and their advisory groups, the European Parliament and the Council
Exchanges of views, experiences and information between member federations with regard to economic, professional, technical, social and general topics of the craft butchers’ sector
Participation in the European Young Butchers’ Competition and the Master Butchers’ Cup
Participation in the traditional event "European Meat Forum"
The IBC-Secretariat General’s circulars moreover regularly inform the member federations about the latest developments in the elaboration of important laws as well as about the corresponding lobbying work of the IBC. Members also benefit from the IBC’s electronic data base, which contains a large series of relevant European and national legal texts as well as other useful publications.
